PAPUA - Amid the challenges and complexities of Papua, Task Force (Satgas) Yonif 700/Wira Yudha Cakti (WYC) has embarked on a mission that goes beyond security—spreading love, strengthening faith, and bringing hope to local communities.
Recently, the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Task Force Yonif 700/WYC, led by Danpos Sinak Bandara, First Lieutenant (Lettu) Inf Karel, distributed Bibles to the people of Gigobak Village, Puncak Regency, Central Papua, on Saturday (03/15/2025).
This initiative is more than just handing out books—it is a symbol of the state’s care for the spiritual well-being of its people. In this remote village, where access to religious resources is limited, the Bible serves as a source of strength, comfort, and guidance for many families.
"We are deeply grateful to Task Force Yonif 700/WYC for providing these Bibles. This means a lot to us, especially in strengthening our faith and hope, " said Pastor Pelek, representing the Gigobak Village community, with tears in his eyes.
Beyond Security: Strengthening Bonds of Brotherhood
This effort is not just about distributing religious books—it is a bridge connecting the TNI with the local people. The soldiers, who are usually seen as guardians of the border, are also present as compassionate brothers, ready to help and serve.
"We want to be here not just as security forces, but as part of the community. We hope that these Bibles will bring strength and peace to the people of Gigobak Village, " said First Lieutenant Inf Karel.
Meanwhile, Pangkoops Habema, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, emphasized that this initiative is a testament to the TNI’s commitment in Papua—not only ensuring security but also fostering a strong and harmonious relationship with the people.
"Task Force Yonif 700/WYC has shown that they are the vanguard who not only safeguard the nation's sovereignty but also spread love and strengthen faith in the land of Papua, " said Pangkoops Habema.
With this initiative, the presence of TNI in Papua is not just about protecting borders but also about building a future filled with peace, faith, and unity.
