Spreading Warmth in the Highlands: Task Force Yonif 700/WYC Brings Joy to Eronggobak’s Children

PAPUA - Amidst the chilly embrace of Papua’s towering mountains, a different kind of warmth spread through Eronggobak Village, Omukia District, Puncak Regency. It wasn’t just the sun breaking through the morning mist, but the heartfelt joy brought by Task Force Yonif 700/WYC, who arrived not just as protectors, but as bringers of happiness.

On Sunday (23/03/2025), under the leadership of Second Lieutenant Inf Sudirman, the soldiers of Pos Eromaga stepped into the village carrying bundles of wearable clothes and an assortment of sweet treats. The moment they arrived, children’s eyes lit up with excitement. Their laughter filled the air, momentarily chasing away the cold mountain breeze.

"We’re here not just to maintain security but to share joy with the children, " said Second Lieutenant Inf Sudirman. "These clothes may be simple, but we hope they bring warmth and happiness to their little hearts."

A Celebration of Smiles and Sweet Surprises

The excitement grew as the soldiers handed out colorful clothes. Little hands eagerly reached out, feeling the fabric, trying on jackets, and twirling in their newfound treasures. But the joy didn’t stop there.

When the soldiers began distributing sweets—cakes, candies, and other delightful treats—the children cheered with glee. Their faces lit up with pure happiness, savoring the rare delight. Some even dared to playfully interact with the soldiers, forging moments of togetherness that would be cherished for years to come.

"Thank you, Mr. TNI!" one child shouted, hugging his new clothes tightly. "We are so happy!"

More Than Just a Mission—A Commitment to Togetherness

This heartwarming activity is part of the ongoing social mission of Task Force Yonif 700/WYC, aimed at strengthening bonds with local communities and easing their daily struggles.

Pangkoops Habema, Maj. Gen. TNI Lucky Avianto, expressed his admiration for the initiative.

"These activities are essential in fostering strong relationships between the TNI and the community, " he stated. "We don’t just want to be seen as security forces; we want to be part of Papua’s big family."

A Humanitarian Touch in the Midst of Duty

Despite the challenges of safeguarding the region, these TNI soldiers continue to prove that their mission goes beyond security. The beaming smiles of Eronggobak’s children are a testament to the power of kindness, the warmth of human connection, and the unwavering commitment of the TNI to serve not just as protectors, but as brothers, friends, and family.

In the heart of Papua, among the misty peaks and rugged terrain, joy was planted—and with it, the hope of a brighter, warmer tomorrow.
