Strengthening Bonds: HABEMA Task Force Fosters Unity with the Yahukimo Community

YAHUKIMO - The 6th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif), under the HABEMA Operations Command in Papua, continues its mission of safeguarding the RI-PNG border while fostering deep connections with local communities. As part of its humanistic approach, the Task Force recently carried out a Social Communication (Komsos) activity in Yahukimo Regency, Papua, on Saturday (01/02/2025), emphasizing the spirit of togetherness and cooperation.

This initiative highlights the TNI’s dual role—not only as a defender of national sovereignty but also as a close companion to the people. Beyond security operations, the 6th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force actively contributes to building peace, harmony, and progress in Yahukimo, ensuring that its presence brings a positive impact to the local population.

Lieutenant Colonel Marinir Rismanto Manurung, S.M., M.Tr. Opsla., CTMP., Commander of the 6th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force, emphasized that their mission extends beyond territorial defense. “We carry a moral responsibility to assist the community, establish familiarity, and provide real solutions to their challenges. The TNI is here not just to safeguard, but to serve and protect, ” he stated.

Echoing this sentiment, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of the HABEMA Operations Command, highlighted the importance of community engagement in Papua’s development. “The Yonif 6 Marine Task Force’s initiative to conduct Social Communication with the people of Yahukimo reflects the TNI’s commitment to inclusive dialogue with all stakeholders. This is a crucial step in supporting the acceleration of development in Papua, ” he remarked after receiving a report on the activity.

Through these efforts, the TNI continues to reaffirm its role as a pillar of stability and progress in Papua, ensuring that security efforts go hand in hand with fostering strong, meaningful relationships with the local community.
