Heartwarming Mission: Habema Task Force Distributes Nutritious Food to Strengthen Bonds with Maybrat Residents

PAPUA - In a heartwarming initiative, the Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) Raider 501/BY, a key unit under the HABEMA Operations Command, carried out a meaningful social action as part of their RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Operation in West Papua’s Maybrat region. On Sunday (02/02/2025), the soldiers went beyond their call of duty by distributing nutritious food to local residents in need.

With a strong spirit of togetherness, members of Satgas Habema prepared and distributed healthy meals, fostering deeper connections between the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the community. The atmosphere around the Satgas Yonif 501/BY Post was different that morning—full of warmth and anticipation—as food packages were carefully prepared for distribution. More than just fulfilling nutritional needs, the initiative symbolized the soldiers' dedication to community welfare.

Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Yakhya Wisnu Arianto, S.Sos., M.Han., Commander of Satgas Yonif 501/BY, emphasized that the activity reflects their commitment to being more than just security forces. “We are here not only to safeguard the region but also to actively support the community’s well-being. Providing nutritious food is one way we can contribute to their health and daily needs, ” he stated.

The initiative was met with heartfelt gratitude from the locals. Mufte Ira, a resident, expressed her appreciation, saying, “This food assistance is a big help, especially in these challenging times. We are deeply grateful to the Yonif 501/BY Task Force for always caring about us.”

This social outreach by the Yonif 501/BY Task Force highlights the TNI’s broader role—not just as protectors, but as a vital part of the community, ready to offer direct support and positive impact. HABEMA Commander, Major General TNI Lucky Avianto, commended the initiative, saying, “This effort to provide nutritious food to Maybrat residents demonstrates TNI’s dedication to supporting basic community needs and accelerating development in Papua.”

With initiatives like these, the Habema Task Force continues to bridge military and civilian relations, ensuring that their presence in Papua is one of security, care, and unwavering support for the people.
