INTAN JAYA - In an extraordinary display of compassion and service, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Forces, operating under the HABEMA Command, has stepped up to empower local farmers in Yoparu Village, Sugapa District, Papua Tengah Province. On Monday, November 18, 2024, the Holomama Post led by First Lieutenant Wanianto launched the "ROSITA" program, short for *Buy up Farming Products*, offering crucial economic support to local residents.
The program saw Soldiers purchasing fresh produce directly from Yoparu farmers during their routine patrols. Using their own funds, the Soldiers bought vegetables, fruits, and other goods to not only support the farmers financially but also incorporate the products into their meals. This personal sacrifice underscored the commitment of the Soldiers to uplifting the local community, fostering trust, and bridging the gap between security forces and civilians.
Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, emphasized the importance of initiatives like ROSITA in building stronger ties with local communities.
*"Our mission extends beyond ensuring security. We are here to help improve the lives of the people, one step at a time, "* he said.
The program brought joy and hope to the villagers. Mrs. Ria Japugau, a farmer and participant in the ROSITA program, expressed her gratitude:
*"Thank you, Commander 509. Your kindness has brought great relief to us. God bless all of you."*
The HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, praised the program, describing it as a prime example of the Indonesian Armed Forces' dedication to community welfare.
*"The ROSITA program showcases our commitment to not only protect but also empower the people of Papua. This initiative strengthens the foundation for sustainable development in the region, "* he stated.
The ROSITA program exemplifies how simple actions can lead to profound impacts. By addressing economic challenges through innovative and empathetic solutions, the HABEMA Soldiers have left a lasting impression on the people of Yoparu Village. This initiative stands as a shining testament to the Indonesian Armed Forces’ dual role as protectors and partners in progress, working tirelessly to secure and uplift the communities they serve.
