INTAN JAYA - In a heartwarming display of solidarity and economic support, the Raider Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) 509 Kostrad, operating under HABEMA Command in Papua, has once again demonstrated its commitment to the local community. Through the ‘Rosita’ (Buying Farmers’ Products) program at the Mamba Strong Point (TK), the Task Force is making a tangible impact on the livelihoods of local farmers, particularly Papuan mothers.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Head of Task Force Yonif 509 Kostrad, Lieutenant Agus Firman, aims to bolster the local economy by purchasing agricultural products directly from farmers. This approach not only ensures fair pricing for their hard work but also strengthens the bond between the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the community.
“We continue to support the community by buying their agricultural products directly. This is our way of contributing to their welfare while fostering a close and harmonious relationship with the people around our post, ” said Lieutenant Agus Firman.
From sweet potatoes, fresh vegetables, to tropical fruits, the products are bought at fair market prices, providing financial relief and encouragement to local farmers. The impact of this initiative is deeply felt, as it directly enhances household income and economic resilience in the region.
Mama Yuliana, a local farmer, shared her heartfelt appreciation for the program.
“We are so grateful to the TNI for purchasing our crops directly. This really helps us in meeting our daily needs. Thank you for your kindness, ” she said.
The ‘Rosita’ program is not merely an economic transaction—it is a testament to TNI’s dedication to community empowerment and sustainable development in Papua. Beyond their primary mission of safeguarding national borders, Task Force Yonif 509 Kostrad actively fosters social and economic growth, ensuring their presence makes a lasting difference.
“This initiative by Task Force Yonif 509 Kostrad is a clear reflection of TNI’s concern for the well-being of local communities. By supporting local farmers, we are also contributing to the broader goal of accelerating development in Papua, ” stated HABEMA Commander, Major General Lucky Avianto.
With each purchase, the ‘Rosita’ program reinforces the principle that true security extends beyond military operations—it encompasses economic stability, social welfare, and the shared prosperity of the people.
