Puncak - In a heartwarming display of service and compassion, the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad commemorated its 74th anniversary by reaching out to the people of Agiyome Village with a special “Free Health Treatment” initiative. Held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Gome District, this program not only provided much-needed medical assistance but also strengthened the bond between the Indonesian Armed Forces and the community.
Led by First Lieutenant Galang and the Gome Post team, the event offered free health services, including general check-ups, treatment for minor ailments, distribution of vitamins, and guidance on maintaining hygiene and healthy living. It was a lifeline for many residents of Agiyome, a village where access to healthcare remains a challenge.
Residents gathered early at the Post to receive treatment, including Mama Ratna Turnib, who had been suffering from the flu. After receiving care, she expressed her gratitude with a smile:
“Thank you, Commander 323. I feel better now. God bless.” Her words echoed the sentiments of many who benefited from the initiative.
Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, Commander of the 323 Task Forces, highlighted the significance of the event.
“This initiative is our way of celebrating the battalion’s milestone by giving back to the community. Protecting the nation also means ensuring its people are healthy and thriving, ” he said.
The program received high praise from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA Operations.
“This health initiative reflects TNI’s commitment to addressing the essential needs of the people. It’s through efforts like these that we can foster trust, improve well-being, and accelerate development in Papua, ” he stated.
